Leadership wisdom is cultivated, not installed.

After 40 years of learning from exceptional leaders, thinkers, and organizations, The Wisdom Orchard focuses on the gap between knowing what good leadership looks like and actually living it. We help leaders turn insight into meaningful action—even when work gets messy, demanding, and unpredictable.

Good leadership advice has to survive Monday morning.

The Wisdom Orchard honors the knowledge, research, and proven practices that have shaped modern leadership. Our focus is helping leaders turn that knowledge into choices and behaviors they can actually use — in real conversations, real decisions, real teams, and real organizations.

Leadership begins with self. It is experienced through the team. It becomes embedded in the organization.

Self

About The Wisdom Orchard

This is a place for leaders who are ready to get honest with themselves.

Not the polished, performance-ready version of honest. The real kind — where you look at the gap between the leader you intended to be and the leader you actually became, and you decide to do something about it.

I've spent forty years in rooms with leaders at every level — from first-time supervisors to senior executives at companies like Herman Miller, UPS, Ford, and GM. What I've learned is this: the leaders who grow are the ones willing to tend their own soil first. Self-leadership before team leadership. Team leadership before organizational health. You can't skip the sequence.

The Wisdom Orchard is where that work happens.

Every orchard begins with a seed.

Mine began the day I became the boss I swore I'd never be.
That experience changed the course of my career and taught me one of the most important lessons about leadership: before we can lead others well, we have to understand ourselves.
Man on a Bench

The fruit of experience.

Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking better questions, listening before speaking, building trust, and creating environments where people can thrive. That's the kind of wisdom we cultivate and share.

How we help leaders grow.
